My recent ceramic works is an ongoing project called, The Stacks, explores place, memory, and personal history, and how these make manifest the gradient between everyday objects, folk art and fine art. I have lived in the US for many years, yet looking back comes naturally and, at times, comes unbidden. The works’ parts are made on the wheel, hand-built and slip-cast, with variations in texture and firing technique. Most are lightly secured, but I sometimes leave pieces unattached to express that within balance inheres precariousness.
