Irja Bodén was raised in Sweden and is currently based in New York’s Hudson Valley. She has worked  with ceramics for over 25 years. She holds a BFA in Visual Arts, magna cum laude, from SUNY Potsdam, and a BA in Social Sciences from Lund University, Sweden. Her recent exhibits include En Vacker Utställning, Konstmuseet i Norr, Kiruna, Sweden; The 2020 National Prize Show, Cambridge, MA; New Folk: Hudson Valley Artists 2020, Dorsky Museum; The Immigrant Artist Biennial 2020: Here Together!, NYC; and The Longest Distance at Amos Eno Gallery, NYC. Irja has received several grants and residencies to include a Public Art Fellowship from the New York State Council on the Arts and the Vermont Studio Center.
